Privacy notice
Last updated October 2026
This notice explains what happens to the details you give us when you contact Clearsite, either through the enquiry form on this website or by email.
Who we are
Clearsite builds websites for small businesses across the UK. Clearsite is a trading name of a UK sole trader, who is responsible for your data. You can reach us at hello@clearsite.uk.
What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form or send us by email:
- Your name and business name
- Your email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number
- Your type of business and town or city
- Anything you write in your message
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. We do this because you asked us to, before any agreement is made.
- If you become a client, to build your website, keep in touch about it and send invoices. We do this to carry out our agreement with you.
We don't sell your details, and we don't add you to a marketing list.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is handled by the services that run this website and our email: our website host (Netlify) and our email providers. Some of these may store data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires. We don't share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't turn into work are deleted within 12 months.
- If you become a client, we keep records of the work and payments for as long as UK tax rules require, usually up to 6 years.
Cookies
This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email hello@clearsite.uk and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first, so please contact us.
